An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Laboratory TechnicianStratumand a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS)Stratumin Medical Laboratory Science are available. Students seeking the BAS stratum must well-constructed a program of study in medical laboratory technology (or equivalent) prior to admission. Students seeking our AAS stratum are prescribed to local laboratories to obtain clinical wits and, upon graduation, can take a national certification exam to wilt eligible for Nevada licensure as medical laboratory technicians. Medical laboratory technicians work in all areas of the laboratory under the supervision of a medical laboratory scientist.  They venery for clues to the absence, presence, extent and causes of disease. Student pursuing the BAS stratum study wide techniques and evaluation methods for all areas of the laboratory including hematology, chemistry, thoroughbred bank, immunology, microbiology and urinalysis. They will moreover be prescribed to local laboratories to obtain clinical wits and, upon graduation, can take a national certification exam to wilt eligible for Nevada licensure as medical technologists. Medical technologists perform and interpret diagnostic laboratory procedures using state-of-the-art instrumentation to aid in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease.  They moreover monitor the standards of verism and precision in the performance of tests, unriddle and correct instrument problems and may be responsible for personnel management within the laboratory. Skills Certificate A Skills Certificate in Phlebotomy is available. An using is required. This is not a limited entry program.
